Don't offer long-term contracts

THERE has been many adverse incidents of poor workmanship and the much needed integrity and conscientiousness despite efforts to improve the quality of service and maintenance in recent years.

In order to ensure and sustain good service, contracts awarded to companies should not be too long because complacency is bound to set in. Ideally it should not be more than five years to keep people on their toes so that open tenders would be called again.
