1,000 schools with PPSMI

IN the year 2003, we stepped into the biggest “pilot” project in education of this century, to leap ourselves into the 21st century with the introduction of PPSMI. The goal was to have more Malaysians at the forefront of science and technology. English is the dominant language for science and 80%-90% of scientific journals are written in English.

We reiterate that PPSMI is about acquiring the knowledge of science and technology in its lingua franca, and not about improving English per se. The main objective of using English through PPSMI is for language immersion and early exposure to Scientific English.
