IT is heartening to note that the Health Ministry is giving high priority to resolving issues related to processing of available organs for transplants in hospitals. It was reported that delays in the harvesting of organs in hospitals is contributing to the low success rates in organ transplants in the country.

The move by the Health Ministry to enforce strictly a “must do list” for all hospitals in expediting the process of organ and tissue harvesting is laudable (The Star, Feb 17).
