More stringent checks on meat needed


I BELIEVE many readers are aware of the horse meat scandal that’s unfolding in Europe. I echo reader Mohamed Sarip’s concerns in, “Horse meat saga worrying” (The Star, Feb 14).

I’m sure many of us like Sarip are starting to wonder whether meat and products containing meat sold in our supermarkets, and of course not forgetting fast food restaurants, may have similar labelling issues.
