Much cheer for Indian community

I WAS pleased to read the announcement by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak that the 100 top Indian students who achieve first-class honours in their first degree at public universities will be given full scholarships to pursue post graduate studies at local universities (“Scholarship cheer” – The Star, March 19).

The students will receive RM15,000 each through the 1Malaysia Development Bhd Foundation in line with the nambekai (trust) he wants to forge with the Indian community.
