THE federal government’s bold step to begin cutting carbon pollution in the atmosphere in 2010 – irrespective of the actions of other nations – is facing some stiff opposition for various reasons.
The Opposition, like the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, does not think it is the right time to launch the plan because of the high cost when the economy is struggling against the current global recession.
