Stop over-fishing

The decline in fish catch by the fishing community is not because we have not been employing the most advanced of methods, but a direct result of over-fishing. Large-scale commercial fishing practices have depleted marine resources to meet the demands of a burgeoning human population.

In a 2006 study conducted by an international team of researchers, it was determined that bigger vessels, better nets and new technology for spotting fish are not bringing the world’s fleets bigger returns. In fact, the global catch fell by 13% between 1994 and 2003.
