The Consumers Association of Penang applauds the move by the Fisheries Department to enforce the requirement for the use of the 38mm-gauge nets for fishing, “In a mesh over 19mm” (The Star, Jan 10).
As correctly pointed out by the department, if no action is taken, the country’s fish stock would not last beyond 2048.
