YOUR report, “Dept blames typhoid cases on poor hygiene” (The Star, March 7), quoted Kelantan Health Department director Datuk Dr Ahmad Razin Ahmad Mahiras saying “it had become a culture in the state for cleanliness to be neglected.”  

I could not agree more based on my experiences in frequenting the eateries along the main road in Jeli. I travel regularly from Penang to Terengganu by express buses which stop over there.
