IF there is a lesson to be learnt from the wide publicity here on the execution of Nguyen Tuong Van in Singapore on Friday, it is that, no matter how young an adult drug smuggler is, he will be hanged if he is caught and convicted of the crime in the island republic. 

That is the full weight of the law that has yet to sink into the mind of many a young man and woman in Australia who apparently are oblivious about it.
