V.K.CHIN has done a great service to fishermen in focusing on their plight, “Fishermen need help to earn a better living” (The Star, Aug 9).
Although he identified the tsunami as the precipitating factor, he has, more importantly, adopted a causal analysis pointing to other more fundamental deep-seated contributory factors for their predicament.
