ON THE current haze situation, Natural Resources and Environment Minister Datuk Seri Adenan Satem has been quoted as saying, “if the situation worsens, it might be necessary to take drastic steps.” 

The Star reported on Tuesday the last count of hotspots was 333 in Sumatra (as opposed to 60 a few days ago) and the smog could be easily seen to blow over the central west coast of the peninsula.
