Despite lacking facilities for studying, nine young convicts in Kajang Prison recently achieved good results in their SPM exam.Encouraged by their success, the prison authorities are hoping to do more to help them pursue their studies while they are behindbars, writes YIP YOKE TENG. 

WHEN the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) results were released recently, Kajang Prison director Alzafry Mohamed Alnassif Mohamed Adahan heaved a sigh of relief. So, too, did many prison officers who had encouraged and tried to help nine young convicts under their supervision prepare for the SPM exam last year.
