A man sentenced to seven years' jail last year for raping an underage girl was acquitted by the High Court when he won his appeal this week. He got off mainly because of the ambiguity as to what had penetrated the girl's private part. This case has added impetus to the campaigns of those advocating a review of the laws related to rape, one of which is the WOMEN'S CENTRE FOR CHANGE.
