THOSE of us who watched on television Colin Powell’s presentation of the United States’ case for invading Iraq at the United Nations Security Council on Feb 5 last year cannot easily forget it.  

Powell cited a lot of apparent evidence of Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction (WMD), complete with giant slide pictures and diagrams, including of mobile trailers which he claimed contained equipment for making chemical weapons.
