THE CALL by the Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to gazette open spaces in housing schemes is timely and long overdue.
The need for provisions for open space by developers has been emphasised for a long time but it must be coupled with efforts to gazette, otherwise developers would take advantage of the situation to convert designated open space land for other uses.
