I REFER to the letter, Original DVDs are simply too pricey (The Star, June 19) by A.R. of Subang Jaya who apparently has looked at the piracy issue in a strange perspective.

All original DVDs are regional-coded for specific reasons, Malaysia and Asia DVDs are Region-3 coded and are selling at a much lower price, quality notwithstanding, than US Region-1 coded edition which should not have found its way to our shores.
