DELEGATES to the recently-concluded Umno general assembly took a “milder” approach in debating the national schools issue without branding vernacular schools as the imaginary enemy, observed Sin Chew Daily in its editorial.
It said that the Umno Youth and Puteri wings, which had spoken on the need for national schools to restrategise to attract more non-Malay pupils, showed the emergence of a new generation of open-minded Malays.
