IT is only logical that the Government has decided to extend the crackdown on pirated and pornographic VCDs to Aug 31 as two weeks would be insufficient to deal effectively with this problem.

In the recent police blitz, the operations of the syndicates responsible for producing these VCDs and their agents have been badly crippled and in fact many of them are now in hiding to avoid being detained by the enforcement officers.
