It's strange how this war has turned out

THERE'S something odd about the war in Iraq. President George W. Bush told the world that the US must attack Iraq because it possessed weapons of mass destruction. After having almost taken over Iraq, US troops have yet to turn up any such weapons. In fact, the US has stopped talking about the issue. 

President Saddam Hussein and his loyalists had the world believing that they would put up a fierce resistance, promising to slaughter the invaders. So far, his men have not even put up a real fight.
