Lab tests indeed necessary

REFERRING to the letter by CAP president S.M. Mohamed Idris (The Star, Feb 13), “Medical tests highly inaccurate,” I must say that although I agree with him in essence that lab tests should have proper quality control and standardisation, I strongly disagree with many of his statements.  

Taking such a shallow and almost robotic stance on the usefulness of medical testing and then stating this over the public media would be considered to do more harm to the general public than good.
