I REFER to the recent statement by Kelantan Mentri Besar Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat that rapists should be sentenced to death by stoning which should be done in public.
This reminds me of an incident which occurred nearly 2,000 years ago in a Middle Eastern country. The religious leaders informed a teacher that they had caught a woman in the act of adultery and according to their law, the woman must be stoned.
