CHINA'S President Xi Jinping noted that in today’s world, where the future and destinies of all countries are closely intertwined, the inclusive coexistence and mutual learning among different cultures play an irreplaceable role in advancing the modernisation of human society and enriching the global garden of civilisations.

Xi has proposed the Global Civilisation Initiative (GCI), which advocates respect for the diversity of world civilisations, promotes common human values, emphasises inheritance and innovation, and strengthens international people-to-people and cultural exchanges and cooperation.
