The underlying problems facing the country have not been addressed and political rhetoric and posturing continue to be much more important than finding the real solutions to real problems.

THERE is a particularly insidious theory going around that Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi had to step down as Umno president because he paid the price for being a nice guy and for making Malaysia more open and free.
