LOOKING out the window doesn’t help one’s mood these days. There’s a grey cast over everything. You are obliged to rush out to do mundane jobs: hang your clothes out to dry or run errands, or risk having wet clothes, or being stuck in traffic for hours.

Then there’s all the non-weather-related factors that can sour anyone’s sunny disposition: recent nail-biting state elections and the gloomy analyses afterwards, the ongoing gravity-defying price of every-thing, the seemingly contradictory stance of a so-called reformist government especially when it comes to freedom of speech.
