Demand for wealth management services rises further in Hong Kong: report

HONG KONG, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong is building on its position as the world's largest cross-boundary wealth management center, with firms reporting stronger demand for new accounts and asset booking, according to an industry report released on Thursday.

Among firms surveyed by Hong Kong's Private Wealth Management Association and KPMG China for the Hong Kong Private Wealth Management Report 2026, 77 percent reported increased demand for Hong Kong accounts or asset booking, up from 59 percent last year. None reported a decline.

The report also showed that 94 percent of the respondents remain moderately or highly optimistic about the market's prospects over the next five years.

Private banking and private wealth management assets under management rose 24 percent to a record 12.9 trillion Hong Kong dollars (1.65 trillion U.S. dollars) in 2025, while net fund inflows increased 79 percent year on year, said the report.

The respondents listed the breadth of investment products as Hong Kong's strongest positive inflow driver, underscoring the value of broader access and continued innovation.
