ANKARA, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- Türkiye's tourism revenue reached a record 51.28 billion U.S. dollars in the first nine months of 2026, up 2.4 percent year-on-year, according to figures released on Friday.
Tourism revenue rose 5 percent year-on-year to 25.53 billion dollars in the third quarter, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat).
Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy said at a press conference in Istanbul that both third-quarter and nine-month tourism revenue had reached record highs.
Ersoy said Türkiye welcomed 49.13 million visitors in the January-September period. According to data from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the top three source countries for visitors to Türkiye during the period were Russia, Germany, and Britain.
Average spending per night rose 4.6 percent year-on-year to 107.70 dollars during the first nine months, with foreign tourists spending an average of 119.90 dollars, according to the minister's presentation.
Türkiye earlier lowered its 2026 tourism revenue target to 65 billion dollars from 68 billion dollars amid regional conflicts. On Friday, Ersoy said the country was on track to exceed the target in full-year tourism revenues.
