KAMPALA, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- Uganda will send a three-player team to compete in the 2026 All Africa Challenge Trophy, a continental women's amateur golf tournament scheduled for November 2-7 in Abuja, Nigeria.
The tournament will be held at the IBB International Golf and Country Club and will bring together national teams from across Africa.
Rita Apell Akot, president of the Uganda Ladies Golf Union (ULGU), confirmed to Xinhua on Saturday that Uganda would field a competitive team.
"We have a team that has been training seriously and we are determined to challenge for the trophy," said Akot.
She named Keisha Kagoro, Harsshitha Loganathan and Judith Komugisha as Uganda's representatives, adding that participation in the continental event reflected the union's commitment to nurturing talent, strengthening the national player development pathway and promoting junior and women's golf.
"I am very excited that I have been selected to represent the country at the All Africa Golf Challenge in Nigeria. We shall work hard as a team to make sure we score good results and carry the national flag high," Komugisha told Xinhua.
