NEW YORK, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks ended higher on Friday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 478.64 points, or 0.93 percent, to 51,828.62. The S&P 500 added 39.28 points, or 0.51 percent, to 7,743.41. The Nasdaq Composite Index increased by 129.34 points, or 0.48 percent, to 27,068.72.
Eight of the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors ended in green, with technology and industrials leading the gainers by going up 0.99 percent and 0.94 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, energy and communication services led the laggards by losing 0.87 percent and 0.65 percent, respectively.
