HEFEI, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang has called for continued efforts to improve fiscal work to better serve and support Chinese modernization.
Ding, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the remarks at a symposium on pilot programs for scientific fiscal management in Hefei, capital city of east China's Anhui Province. He attended the symposium and conducted investigation and research in the city on Tuesday and Wednesday.
At the symposium, Ding called for effective implementation of a more proactive fiscal policy, with a focus on supporting stable economic growth, optimizing the economic structure, and promoting steady and sustained high-quality development.
Ding stressed the need to make solid efforts in fiscal work in the second half of the year, accelerate the use of relevant funds, and strengthen coordination between fiscal and monetary policies.
Efforts should be made to promote sustained economic development toward new and higher-quality growth with positive momentum, and make greater contributions to getting the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030) off to a good start, he said.
During his stay in Anhui, Ding also learned about pilot programs for scientific fiscal management and fiscal operations at the primary level, as well as the application of artificial intelligence in scientific research.
