Kyrgyzstan's banking sector assets rise over 30 pct in H1 2026


BISHKEK, Aug. 17 (Xinhua) -- The total assets of Kyrgyzstan's banking sector reached 1.5773 trillion soms (about 18 billion U.S. dollars) as of June 2026, increasing by 30.2 percent compared with the beginning of the year, the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic said Monday.

The banking sector's loan portfolio grew by 18.9 percent during the first six months of the year, reaching 602.6 billion soms, according to a post on the central bank's official Telegram channel.

Meanwhile, deposits increased by 6.8 percent over the same period to 924.7 billion soms.
