LONDON, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) -- A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and dangerous driving after a car hit three pedestrians in Bristol, the BBC reported Sunday, citing local police.
Avon and Somerset Police said the incident occurred on Stokes Croft in Bristol at about 6:30 a.m. (0530 GMT) on Sunday, following reports of a disturbance.
One pedestrian was taken to hospital, but the injuries were not considered life-threatening or life-changing, according to the police. The other two pedestrians were not seriously injured.
Police said the arrested man, believed to have been driving the car, was treated for facial injuries. No further information about his identity was provided.
Officers were deployed to the area as the investigation continued.
Bristol Superintendent Matt Ebbs said police did not believe there was a wider threat to the public. He also appealed for anyone with relevant CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage to contact the police.
