NEW YORK, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar fell in late trading on Wednesday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, dropped to 0.18 percent to 99.676 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro climbed to 1.1553 dollars from 1.1533 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound increased to 1.3469 dollars from 1.3452 U.S. dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar bought 157.67 Japanese yen, higher than 157.66 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar lost to 0.8069 Swiss francs from 0.8092 Swiss francs, and it decreased to 1.4008 Canadian dollars from 1.4066 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar was down to 9.4832 Swedish Kronor from 9.5192 Swedish Kronor.
