ZAGREB, Aug. 1 (Xinhua) -- An Iberia Airbus A320 aircraft suffered nose landing gear damage while landing at Split Airport on Saturday afternoon, with no injuries reported among the 178 people on board, Croatian authorities said.
The incident occurred at approximately 16:22 local time (1422 GMT) as flight IB0945, arriving from Madrid, was touching down at the airport in Split, the second-largest city in Croatia.
According to Croatia's Air, Maritime and Railway Traffic Accidents Investigation Agency, the aircraft's nose landing gear was damaged during the landing sequence. After the plane came to a complete halt, emergency protocols were activated, and all 172 passengers and six crew members were safely evacuated from the aircraft.
A formal investigation of the accident is ongoing.
