NEW YORK, July 27 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar increased in late trading on Monday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, gained 0.07 percent to 101.539 at 3 p.m. (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro fell to 1.1368 U.S. dollars from 1.1370 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound dropped to 1.3288 dollars from 1.3326 dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar bought 163.78 Japanese yen, lower than 163.84 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar increased to 0.8190 Swiss francs from 0.8182 Swiss francs, and it rose to 1.4125 Canadian dollars from 1.4096 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar climbed to 9.7285 Swedish Kronor from 9.7158 Swedish Kronor.
