US Senate blocks resolution curbing Trump's Iran war powers

WASHINGTON, ⁠July 23 (Reuters) - ⁠The U.S. Senate ‌on Thursday blocked a Democratic-led ​resolution aiming ⁠to stop ⁠the Iran war ⁠until hostilities ‌are ⁠authorized by Congress. The ​resolution ‌reflects growing congressional ⁠concern, ​even among President ⁠Donald Trump's Republicans, ​over the war.

The Senate voted ⁠49 to 47 not to advance ​the ⁠war powers resolution.
