Crude futures settle lower


NEW YORK, July 9 (Xinhua) -- Oil prices went down on Thursday.

The West Texas Intermediate for August delivery dropped 1.44 U.S. dollars, or 1.96 percent, to settle at 72.08 dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for September delivery lost 1.72 dollars, or 2.2 percent, to settle at 76.3 dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange.
