Australia and Fiji strike new defence alliance


SYDNEY, ⁠July 6 (Reuters) - ⁠Australia and ‌Fiji on Monday signed a ​new mutual ⁠defence ⁠alliance as well ⁠as ‌a ⁠treaty to strengthen economic ​and ‌security cooperation.

The ⁠agreements ​mark an elevation ⁠of ties ​between the two countries, Fiji ⁠Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka said.
