Kyrgyzstan receives nearly 260 mln USD in remittances in April 2026


BISHKEK, June 25 (Xinhua) -- Kyrgyzstan received 259.8 million U.S. dollars in remittances in April 2026, according to data released by the country's National Bank on Thursday.

Figures published on the bank's Telegram channel showed that the bulk of remittances came from countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), totaling 239.8 million dollars, while transfers from non-CIS countries amounted to 20 million dollars.

Russia remained the largest source of remittances, accounting for 231.1 million dollars, followed by the United States with 12.4 million dollars.

Meanwhile, remittances sent from Kyrgyzstan to other countries totaled 19.8 million U.S. dollars in April.

Of this amount, 17.7 million dollars was transferred to CIS countries, while 2.1 million dollars was sent to non-CIS countries. Russia was the primary destination, receiving 17.3 million dollars, followed by Türkiye with 1.5 million dollars.
