BISSAU, June 18 (Xinhua) -- Guinea-Bissau's Public Health Minister Quinhin Nantote has highlighted China's "relevant" role in supporting the development of the country's health sector.

Nantote made the remarks Wednesday during a handover ceremony for a batch of information technology equipment donated by the Chinese government to Guinea-Bissau's Ministry of Public Health.

The donation, consisting of 16 desktop computers, is aimed at strengthening the ministry's administrative and technical capacities.

Speaking at the ceremony, Nantote said China has supported Guinea-Bissau's health sector in several areas, including the construction of health infrastructure, the training of professionals, and the provision of equipment and essential materials for the operation of health services.

"These forms of support have contributed significantly to strengthening the ministry's capacities and improving healthcare services for the people of Guinea-Bissau," Nantote said, adding that the ministry is becoming "increasingly prepared" to meet public expectations.
