Fire breaks out at Dubai's Emirates Financial Towers

DUBAI, June 18 (Xinhua) -- A fire broke out on the top floors of the North Tower of Emirates Financial Towers in Dubai early Thursday, local media reported.

Eyewitnesses saw thick smoke and orange flames from the upper floors.

Police and emergency crews rushed to the scene, sealing off Al Sukook Street, which leads to the building, and barring access to the area.

The cause remains unclear. Authorities were continuing efforts to bring the blaze under control.
