NEW YORK, June 16 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks ended mixed on Tuesday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 328.64 points, or 0.64 percent, to 51,999.67. The S&P 500 sank 42.94 points, or 0.57 percent, to 7,511.35. The Nasdaq Composite Index shed 307.6 points, or 1.15 percent, to 26,376.34.
Seven of the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors ended in green, with financials and utilities leading the gainers by rising 1.49 percent and 0.69 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, technology and energy led the laggards by dropping 2.32 percent and 0.25 percent, respectively.
