RABAT, June 8 (Xinhua) -- Morocco's gross domestic product (GDP) grew 4.9 percent in 2025, up from 4.4 percent in 2024, the official High Commission for Planning said Monday.

The growth was driven mainly by the dynamism of domestic demand and was achieved in a context marked by controlled inflation and a widening financing requirement for the national economy, the commission said.

The commission noted that growth was strongly supported by the primary sector, which expanded by 7.1 percent in 2025, following a 5.1 percent contraction in 2024, according to Morocco World News.

Meanwhile, domestic demand grew by 6.1 percent in 2025, down from 6.7 percent in 2024, contributing 6.6 percentage points to GDP growth, according to the report.
