TEHRAN -- Iran has submitted a 14-point counterproposal to the United States calling for a permanent end to hostilities and a full withdrawal of U.S. forces from the region, semi-official Tasnim news agency reported Saturday.
The plan was delivered through Pakistani intermediaries in response to a nine-point U.S. proposal, said Tasnim. (Iran-U.S.-Ceasefire)

TEHRAN -- Iran's army spokesman Mohammad Akraminia said on Saturday the country's armed forces are controlling the Strait of Hormuz, and no friendly or hostile vessel can transit the waterway without their permission.
Controlling the Strait of Hormuz is "an inherent right" of Iran, of which the country had not made use for years, Akraminia said, according to footage of his remarks carried by Iranian media. (Iran-Strait of Hormuz-Control)

JERUSALEM -- Two members of the Global Sumud Flotilla, an international humanitarian convoy intercepted by the Israeli navy in the Mediterranean Sea while en route to Gaza, were brought to Israel for questioning by law enforcement authorities, the Israeli Foreign Ministry said Saturday in a statement.
The flotilla was intercepted by the Israeli navy in international waters on Wednesday evening, and 175 of its participants disembarked on the Greek island of Crete on Friday, in coordination with the Greek government. (Israel-Gaza-Flotilla)

DUBAI -- The General Civil Aviation Authority of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced Saturday the full resumption of normal air navigation operations in UAE's airspace and the lifting of all precautionary measures.
The authority said the decision followed a comprehensive assessment of operational and security conditions, conducted in coordination with relevant authorities. It would continue real-time monitoring to ensure aviation safety. (UAE-Navigation Operations-Resumption)
