Russia's LNG output hits record 3.3 mln tonnes in March

MOSCOW, April 22 (Xinhua) -- Russia's liquefied natural gas (LNG) production reached a record 3.3 million tonnes in March 2026, marking the highest monthly level on record, TASS news agency reported Wednesday.

The figure was up 15.2 percent from February and 13.3 percent year on year, data from the Federal State Statistics Service showed. The previous monthly high was recorded in January 2026.

In the first quarter of 2026, total LNG output reached 9.5 million tonnes, up 9.3 percent from the same period last year.

The record production came amid historically high exports to Europe. Russian LNG deliveries to the European Union in March reached 2.46 billion cubic meters, an all-time high, according to calculations based on data from European energy think tank Bruegel, cited by TASS.
