Heavily armed man arrested near Trump's LA golf club

MOSCOW: Police have arrested heavily armed US resident Sean Steiner after he walked through an elite Los Angeles neighbourhood near President Donald Trump’s golf club, Sputnik/RIA Novosti reported, citing the New York Post newspaper.

Steiner, a resident of the US city of Glendale, now faces multiple charges, including illegal firearms trafficking, after he was seen wandering a prestigious area of Los Angeles, clad in body armour and armed with an array of weapons, the newspaper reported on Tuesday (April 14).

One of his firearms was adorned with images of the Joker, a popular comic book villain, and related slogans, according to the report.

The man was spotted near the Trump National Golf Club Los Angeles in Rancho Palos Verdes and was arrested when he tried to escape, running along the roadway, the report said.

Steiner also reportedly confessed to firing shots into the air just before his arrest.

He told the police he was trying to "get some anger out," the New York Post said. — Bernama-Sputnik/RIA Novosti
