Armenia, Kazakhstan discuss rail connectivity, regional trade

YEREVAN, April 9 (Xinhua) -- Railway links and unblocking regional routes dominated talks Thursday between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and visiting Kazakh Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev, Armenpress reported.

Pashinyan pointed to the restored rail connection running through Azerbaijan, Russia and Georgia as a development giving fresh impetus to trade between Armenia and Kazakhstan.

Kosherbayev said he supports greater regional connectivity, stressing the importance of unblocking transport routes and expressing confidence that railway links would expand bilateral commerce.

The two sides also noted the imminent launch of direct flights between the two countries and a planned visit by Armenian entrepreneurs to Kazakhstan as steps toward deeper economic engagement.
