UN: Attack on Lebanon a major threat to Iran-US ceasefire

TEHRAN: The United Nations (UN) warned about the negative impact of the Israeli regime's attacks on Lebanon on the Iran-US ceasefire process, Mehr News Agency (MNA) reported.

The UN has declared that the Israeli regime's attacks on Lebanon "are considered a major threat to the truce between the United States and Iran."

The UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres also strongly condemned the brutal attacks by the Zionist regime on Lebanon.

In his remarks, Guterres condemned Wednesday's Israeli attacks on Lebanon that killed and injured hundreds of people, according to a statement by UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric.

He added that the continued attacks "pose a serious threat to the ceasefire and efforts to achieve a lasting peace in the region.”

The UN chief also called on all parties to immediately cease hostilities. — Bernama-MNA
