U.S. dollar ticks up


NEW YORK, March 30 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar increased in late trading on Monday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, went up 0.36 percent to 100.508 at 3 p.m. (1900 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro fell to 1.1457 dollars from 1.1508 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound was down to 1.3186 dollars from 1.3266 dollars in the previous session.

The U.S. dollar bought 159.58 Japanese yen, lower than 160.38 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar rose to 0.8 Swiss francs from 0.7983 Swiss francs, and it was up to 1.3926 Canadian dollars from 1.3892 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar added to 9.5556 Swedish kronor from 9.4751 Swedish kronor.
