Georgia to assume chairmanship of OSCE Forum for Security Co-operation

TBILISI, March 26 (Xinhua) -- Georgia is set to assume the chairmanship of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Forum for Security Co-operation on April 13, the Georgian Public Broadcaster reported on Thursday, citing the country's embassy in Austria.

The handover ceremony was held on Wednesday during the final session of the French chairmanship. Georgia will chair the forum until Sept. 4, before the United Kingdom takes over.

The Forum for Security Co-operation is the OSCE's key decision-making body dealing with politico-military affairs. It works to increase military security and stability in Europe and covers some of the participating states' most fundamental politico-military agreements.
